Monthly reporting of waste data from suppliers to buyers

Brands, who we have worked with, have been asking for a tool that would enable to create a "baseline" understanding of how much waste is actually generated from production in total and what happens to it right now. This enables to start setting targets on reuse and recycling and most of all reduction of waste sent to incineration of landfill. Although much of the production waste still carries negative or zero value, a growing share of it can be recycled back to good-quality materials a raw material for different industries, including fashion. RR platform now offers tools for creating of such baseline data across a large network of manufacturers globally.

The waste data collection tool enables textile and garment factories (focus on tier 1 factories first) to do the following on their end:

  • Easily generate a list of all different types of waste by material type, composition, waste type, volume and disposal method.
  • Pre-fill the monthly report from the daily inventory tool (waste categories, volumes, shipment information) if the inventory has been used fully or partially throughout the month prior to reporting.
  • Use a rough calculator to register the % share of the waste in relation to their key buyers, specially the ones requesting monthly waste reports. This can be done as a breakdown of all waste in one go or select specific material types that were related to a certain buyer.
  • Submit this as a monthly report for their buyers who have joined RR platform and are requesting such reports.

The monthly waste reporting tool is launched on June 30, 2021 for the first testing. Thus it is only accessible to a selected group of suppliers to enable giving intense feedback and improve the tool further based on that. The reporting tool will be made available to suppliers from end of August based on request by the key buyers, buying houses or large manufacturing groups or anyone else who is interested to monitor their waste volumes across their network of suppliers.
