Level 4 - fulfill orders from recyclers or brands

Once the facility starts entering waste data into RR inventory regularly, RR will be able to do matchmaking of the waste with recyclers in our network and get back to you with specific orders from our recyclers. The process in general looks like this:

  1. RR will occasionally collect samples from the factory waste warehouse for our recyclers (and brands working with the recyclers) to confirm the waste quality.
  2. Once we have confirmed sample quality and order volume with the recycler we will come back to the factory with a request for target volumes and prices with a target deadline to be confirmed by the factory within 2 working days.
  3. The factory takes responsibility for the composition and any chemical requirements made by the recycler to match the waste passed over to the waste handler for each particular order.
  4. RR will appoint a waste handler to confirm details regarding logistics, transportation, security escort, etc.
  5. The waste handler arranges logistics for the shipment and makes payment of 50% of the waste during pickup.
  6. Factory registers shipment of the waste on the RR platform
  7. The waste handler carries through a secondary quality check for the waste to remove any unwanted contamination (paper, plastic, threads, side stitches) from the waste and takes responsibility for the waste to be consistently clean as per the recycler’s requirements (except for composition and chemical background check which can’t be identified in manual sorting). The waste handler uploads a quality report for each batch of waste to the RR platform.
  8. After a quality check is done by the waste handler, the rest of the payment is made by the waste handler or by RR depending on the destination of the waste. In case the contamination of the waste exceeds 2% of what was confirmed with the order sheet, extra contamination % will be deducted from the second payment.

After the first trial shipment, we will request the organisation to sign a Waste Sales Agreement for regular transactions later on. The 2-year agreement settles the procedures and responsibilities between your organisation and the RR platform as well as the recycler, waste handler and possibly retail brand involved in the collaboration of waste supply, management and recycling.

Additionally (appendix to the long-term agreement) we will agree on (revised after every 6 months):

  • minimum volumes per each type of waste that your facilities can provide for RR Network,
  • the minimum expected prices that the facility can expect, and
  • the list of preferred partners to receive the waste from each facility (brands, recyclers and/or waste handers).
